Like many other young lads of my era I learnt the chords to this song when I was 15 in 1969. A classmate Roger Diggins taught me and I passed them onto my cousin David Fowler and friend Steve Woodward. Steve did a fine improvisation on lead guitar as I recall. Unfortunately I lost the recording at a party.
If I was A Moslem
If I were a Moslem and could have more than one wife,
who would I choose to spice up my life,
Would it be Wendy with her milky white thighs,
or would it be Rosey with those lovely brown eyes?
Why can't I have both, if lifes just a dream,
why can't I have a whole netball team?
But now that I'm fifty I don't really care,
As long as they're young and have long blonde hair.
Vicar or Tart
At the local pub with Joy, Christine, Elaine and my wife Shirley. As you can see I have the best legs.
Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life
When I feel a bit down I listen to this

Red & White Tiles
Tiles soaking in the bowl until just right,
kneeling with Mum on the kitchen floor,
neatly laid in chequered red & white,
cutting shapes to fit round the pantry door.
The shotgun in the corner near Dads chair,
twelve bore cartridges in the sideboard drawer,
feeling lifeless pheasants under the stair
and the rabbits hanging on the pantry door.
Much later and with a quivering lip.
standing with brothers near the kitchen sink,
funeral over and most contents in the tip,
the red & white tiles really made me think,
Mum & Dad who did so very much for me,
are no longer here but just a memory.
